A gift of $500 will secure your brick on the Herbert Love Bridge in support of the Canes Health Assessment and Motivation Program (CHAMP), a program providing free fitness assessments to all UM students.
Patti, B.B.A. ‘57, and Allan Herbert, B.B.A. ‘55, M.B.A. ‘58, met during their first week at the University of Miami and fell in love. In honor of the pivotal role the University played in their love story, the couple became large supporters of UM’s wellness program. In addition to donating funds to the Student Wellness Center, later named in honor of the couple, they established an endowment for the “Canes Health Assessment and Motivation Program” (CHAMP).
In recognition of their endowed gift, the bridge in front of the Herbert Wellness Center was named the “Love Bridge” to commemorate their love for the University and for each other.
For a $500 donation, you can purchase a brick on this bridge to memorialize a special event, acknowledge a loved one, or to permanently show your love for UM.
Not only does a Love Brick publicly proclaim your love for someone you care deeply about, but funds from your brick help to put UM students on the permanent wellness path. The CHAMP Endowment Fund offers all UM students free fitness assessments each semester they’re in school. Students use the information from these assessments to get started or stay on the right health and fitness program to achieve their wellness goals.
