Designed to be one of the finest centers in the nation for recreational sports, fitness, and wellness education programs, the Herbert Wellness Center affirms the University of Miami’s commitment to a well-rounded educational environment.
The Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center is a premier fitness, recreation, and wellness facility that opened in January 1996.

 

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, some of the spaces inside the Herbert Wellness Center have been repurposed to provide for social distancing guidelines.

Indoor Facility

  • 18,000 sq. ft. Norman C. Parsons, Jr. Fitness Room full of well-maintained cardio and weight equipment
  • Large gymnasium (Main Gym) with three full basketball courts that can also be converted to volleyball or badminton courts
  • Smaller gymnasium (Centre Court) with rounded walls equipped to play indoor soccer, floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, or badminton
  • Jogging/walking track (11 laps to a mile)
  • Indoor 25-yard, 6-lane lap swimming pool with room for water exercise classes
  • Spa and two saunas
  • Racquetball and squash courts (call 305-284-3261 for a reservation)
  • Juice bar (FitBerry) with healthy food choices and delicious smoothies (‘Cane Express and Dining Dollars accepted)
  • Fitness lab (home to the CV Wellness and CHAMP programs)
  • Instructional kitchen (cooking classes offered regularly)
  • Studio Cycling room (Club Norm)
  • 2 Classrooms and a Conference room
  • 4 Multi-purpose rooms for group exercise, martial arts, and more
  • Pilates studio featuring five reformer racks

  • Functional training studio (Storm Zone) with a sled push and a tire flip machine

Outdoor Facility

  • 4 Basketball courts that can be easily converted to volleyball courts
