Launched in the midst of the pandemic in Spring 2021, the University of Miami’s Discord server and Esports program help students develop their social and intellectual well-being by building connections with their fellow ’Canes in an egaming community.
Designed for both new and expert gamers as well as those who are simply looking to engage with their peers in an online setting, the new UM_Esports Discord server hosts channels on a variety of topics and enables students to easily set up gaming opportunities with others.
About Discord
Discord is a free online platform that uses voice, video, and text to keep online communities connected. The Esports program uses the UM_Esports Discord as the primary source for news and updates about programs, tournaments, and more.
