The Jacks, hosted annually by the Department of Wellness and Recreation, recognize outstanding departmental student employees who consistently demonstrate superior work ethic and exceed expectations both within the Department and at the University of Miami. In addition to recognition and a commemorative trophy, award winners receive a $100 bonus.
The Jacks will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at Noon.
Nominees should demonstrate leadership qualities within the Department and the University of Miami community. Students should have made a significant impact on campus life as a leader of a student organization, programming board, resident assistant, club sports officer, etc.
Recognizes students with exemplary job performance throughout their time as a DWR student employee. Nominees are seen as role models for fellow students and consistently go above and beyond their assigned responsibilities.
For students with direct contact with patrons and guests, this award honors student employees who exhibit exceptional customer service at all times and show a strong commitment to creating a positive customer experience throughout the Herbert Wellness Center.
The award is given to students who hold positions considered to be “behind the scenes” for the Department. Nominees should continually exceed expectations, perhaps with little supervision.
This award recognizes student employees who go out of their way to foster an environment of friendship, comradery, and family among their fellow student employees.
This award was intended to recognize an emerging leader with 1 year or less experience within DWR. This student has displayed attributes of professionalism, a good work ethic, enthusiasm, and reliability.
Nicholas Rados was a dedicated freshman intramural official that showcased high standards of leadership, commitment, and integrity. The recipient of this award must officiate all intramural sports, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to the program. They must exhibit outstanding leadership qualities, setting a positive example for their peers, while maintaining professionalism and fairness. This award serves as a tribute to Nicholas Rados’ legacy, honoring those who embody his passion, dedication, and excellence in intramural officiating.
